Road Trip: Colorado

From Utah we drove to Grand Junction, Colorado.  My sister's in-laws live there and they had decided to bless their baby there.

We went straight from driving to the baby blessing and Logan was just done, done, done.  His face says it all! And I love it!

This was his best effort after being bribed with chocolate milk!

I couldn't figure out how to turn this picture . . . This was the next day.  We went to a park and had lunch with Jessica's family, mom and dad, and Tyler and Emi.  The kids were excited to be able to run around and excited to hang out with their family they don't get to see much anymore.  They also loved meeting their baby cousin, Clara.  From Grand Junction we drove to Grandma and Grandpa's house near Denver.  My parents had also just moved there recently so we got to see AAALLL the grandparents! It was great!

This is Barr Lake which is very close to the grandparent's house. We took a nice walk near sunset. It was beautiful! 

Wading in the lake with Papa. This was before Logan waded out to waist deep and excitedly said "I'm sooo deep!!!" 

We went back the next day and took a walk up to the dam. We were able to walk out on it. I think I was 22 weeks pregnant here.

Lolli and Pop had some fun activities planned-like water balloons and side walk chalk!

There was also a lot of Lego building

Guitar playing and drumming

and a splash pad! The kids were never at risk of being bored!

A definite highlight was meeting their cousin Baby Sally.  They had been dying to meet her for 10 long months! She sure is a cutie and the kids loved handing her toys, reading to her, and playing with her!

We went up to Boulder and took a walk by the river. We got to wade a little and there were some rocks for the kids to climb on.

There was also a huge park so we got out the kids tents and let them play "camping" for a while. They had fun!

For Father's Day we went back to Barr Lake and went kayaking and fishing.

Each of the kids were so excited to go out on their very own in the kayaks! They were tied to my dad's kayak and did pretty well with rowing!

At first I thought Katelyn was too young to go out in the kayak by herself but she was determined and she did great! She seems to think that anything her brothers can do she can do too!

Nathan had his heart set on catching a fish! It broke my heart when we had to go and he hadn't caught one.  He was so upset! Many promises of future fishing trips were given!
