Holiday Weekend

Last weekend was a pretty fun one for us, starting on Thursday, February 13th.  It was on February 13th four years ago that Michael asked me to marry him . . . kind of . . .  I like to tease him about that because he didn't actually ask me!  He had the ring and he was down on one knee but instead of asking me to marry him he told me we could exchange the ring if I didn't like it! I think he was super nervous and there were these foreign women near by that were taking pictures and very excited for us.
I still love my ring (there was no need to exchange it), but my preggy fingers are way to swollen to wear it!
It's kind of hard to believe that just one week later that floppy haired boy was headed off to boot camp for the Army and thus began the longest year and a half of my life!  And now here we are 4 years later still crazy in love and anxiously waiting the arrival of our first little baby!

To celebrate our engagement anniversary we went to Cracker Barrel and had some amazing peach pancakes!  The next day was Valentine's Day but since we go out to celebrate our engagement anniversary we like to stay home on Valentine's Day and have an extra nice meal at home.  This year we did fondue.  It was delicious!  We did cheese and chocolate! Both turned out really well.

The rest of the weekend we used to put together the babies room!  My awesome co-workers did a baby shower for me on Valentine's Day (which will get it's own separate post) so we actually had some things to put in the babies room.  The biggest part of getting the room ready was just cleaning up our second bedroom.  It slowly becomes the place we put things when we don't know what to do with them, so it was kind of a mess.  It's not much but now baby Nathan has his own little spot in the house!

  1. It looks like it was a great way to celebrate the anniversary of your engagement and Valentines Day plus a baby shower. Sounds like fun to me!
