Nathan's MRI Follow Up

We had Nathan's follow up from his MRI two weeks ago. The neurosurgeon was very surprised by the images. He said that it was a best case scenario and that everything looks great! He said that his sacral dimple is just a dimple and his spinal chord is not tethered! He said that he does still have an open sinus tract but it is very shallow and doesn't connect to any nerves. He recommended having it closed surgically but not until Nathan is 6 months-a year old.  We felt so relieved and overjoyed! I felt like so many prayers had been answered!

This news brought with it some other exciting news. We had been trying to figure out if we would be able to move to Utah or if we would need to stay here in Texas. Michael had been trying to figure out work and school and nothing had really come together yet. After we learned Nathan wouldn't need surgery Michael found a job in Utah and was able to figure out VA benefits to be able to go to school at UVU. Since he's starting school next month we had to act quick to get things together for our move. The last two weeks have been a whirlwind! But, we are now almost completely packed and cleaned and we will be moving to Utah on Monday!

The hardest part for me was quitting my job. I have loved working for CPS. It has been one of the hardest, most stressful times of my life but also very rewarding. I'm going to miss my boss and co-workers more then anything. I'm pretty excited to be a stay at home mom though!

  1. This is such great news. It is another testament to me that the Lord knows us and is mindful of us.
