Logan learning about immediate family and extended family for Social Studies
YouTube is full of great kids workout videos! This is a Spiderman video we did on Logan's birthday!
He's known how to spell his name for quite some time but loved using the math tally sticks to write it out!
For Science we learned about the 5 senses and did a taste test. I felt quite bad when they tasted the vinegar . . . but they got a brownie after to make up for it!
This is what we call tablet school! They love it! We try and limit it to once a week or so or to supplement our other curriculums.
Nathan made an x-ray! It was super cool! I love the projects they get in there Kiwi crates, Atlas crates and Lil' Passports!
They made electricity bugs! The connection between the battery and lightbulb was too loose but we did get it to flicker for a little bit!
Math on the abacus!
Harry Potter joins us for school often!
The biggest trial in school right now is that the teacher is so tired these days! Haha! The kids have a check list they mark each day for school, chores and hygiene. If they get so many checks during the week they get to choose a special activity to do on Friday or Saturday. It's been really helpful to keep things going! Even when I'm super tired they make sure we're doing all the things we're supposed to be so they can earn their rewards! Nathan got his initial assessment results back and is reading at a 2nd grade level. In some of the categories they tested he got the maximum score possible. We do have some work to do in math but I'm really liking his new curriculum. It's more hands on and incorporates games into the lessons. He loves playing the math games and it makes math more fun and light!
