Pre-Birthday Fun

About a week and a half ago we took Nathan to Cookie Cutters to get a big one year old boy haircut.  He did a pretty good job until the very end.  They are good at that place! 

Saturday we had a family birthday party for Nathan.  My mom came out for the week and got to be there!
Top Row: Nathan is giving his little tiny friend, Abe, a hug and possibly a kiss.  Abe is my BFF's baby.  He's about 8 months younger then Nathan.  Nathan just loves him though!  He always has to crawl over to see him and usually tries to poke his eyes or nose or give him loves.  They are going to be BFF's once Abe gets a bit bigger!  Next is me and my little birthday boy, then Cohen and Nathan checking out his Daniel Tiger trolley, under them is Nathan and Ivy.  Ivy is a year older then Nathan and also my BFF's little girl.  Nathan loves to follow Ivy around.  Next is Aunt Jessica with the birthday boy, and then Dad and birthday boy.
Bottom Row: Nathan pulled the candle off his cake and picked at the frosting with his fingers.  He's so funny.  I took the candle from him to see what he'd do with the cupcake.  He picked the icing off of that as well.  Uncle Daniel smashed his hand into it and even then he was a dainty little eater.  Next is my cute boy, then the middle two and bottom are Nathan playing with his fun birthday toys, and lastly another picture of him eating his cake.

I wanted some cute one year old pictures but really didn't want to pay so much money for a professional, so I set up a sheet in our kitchen and did my own.  I think they turned out pretty cute.  Nathan is just adorable so that helped. ;)

We also did a "cake smash".  He really just picked at the frosting and then Michael smashed his hand into the cake.  He didn't like that and tried getting it off by flinging in behind him.  The icing on his face in the bottom picture is also from Michael.  He's such a funny kid!

Nathan got these adorable overalls from his Aunt Jessica.  I'm so glad we took advantage of the nice weather on Sunday because the last few days have been COLD.  In the top and bottom left pictures Nathan is playing "so big".  We've loved having Meemaw here this week!!

 Michael is on the top left, I'm on the bottom right, both pictures taken on our first birthdays.  Nathan is on the right making our similar facial expressions.  He's such a good mix of both of us!  It's crazy!
